We are pleased to announce that Kevin Luu, currently the chief financial officer and treasurer at Humanity United, will join the Heising-Simons Foundation as our chief financial officer. 

Mr. Luu has more than 20 years of financial management experience and has been with Humanity United—a philanthropic organization that is a member of The Omidyar Group and dedicated to cultivating the conditions for enduring peace and freedom—since 2008. Earlier in his career, he was a financial consultant for numerous high-growth technology businesses as well as the Vice President of Finance for Critical Path.

Recently, many of our staff had a chance to meet with Mr. Luu during the interview process, and we were captivated by his knowledge, passion, and leadership, particularly around financial systems and financial health of philanthropic organizations.

Mr. Luu will join us on January, with our finance, IT, and office operations leaders as his direct reports. He will also serve as our corporate treasurer, effective his start date.
