News & Stories The Legal Clinics Fund Announces Grants to Defend Journalism Share By Heising-Simons Foundation on 10/1/2019 on 10/1/2019 The Legal Clinics Fund in journalism has announced its first round of grant recipients to support legal clinics at colleges and universities across the country defending journalists and freedom of the press in the United States. Supported by the Heising-Simons Foundation, Democracy Fund, and the Klarman Family Foundation, the Legal Clinics Fund launched earlier this year to defend attacks on freedom of the press, and to serve local journalists. This first set of grants will support work by The University of Buffalo Civil Liberties & Transparency Clinic; Harvard Law School’s Cyberlaw Clinic; the University of California, Irvine, Intellectual Property, Arts, and Technology Clinic; and The Cornell Law School First Amendment Clinic.
