Parents have a profound impact on their children’s education and development. And yet, developing a framework to better support effective parenting practices has remained a challenge, particularly in the context of changing demographic characteristics of the U.S. population, greater diversity in family structures, and increased access to technology and parenting information.

Developed by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, Parenting Matters: Supporting Parents of Children Ages 0-8 is a report that aims to serve as a roadmap for best policies, research, and practices in the United States.

Of note: this is the first major consensus study in the United States to assess research and strategies to support parenting.
