News & Stories Introducing Two New Members of the Education Team Share By Barbara Chow on 10/16/2018 on 10/16/2018 I am thrilled to announce two new team members joining the Heising-Simons Foundation’s Education program! September Jarrett will be joining the Education team as a program officer focused on policy and systems change, particularly here in California. For the past two years, September has been the director of the Office of Early Care and Education in San Francisco, where she led policy, funding, data, and evaluation initiatives to forge an equitable and effective system of early learning. Prior to that, she was a program director at the Mimi and Peter Haas Fund, and a deputy director and inter-agency council at the Mayor’s Office of Housing for the city and county of San Francisco. Malia Ramler will be joining the Education team as a program officer focused on effective practices, including family engagement, support for dual language learners, and vulnerable children. Malia has been a senior administrator for several years at First 5 Alameda County, and she comes to us with deep expertise in early childhood, as well as in grantmaking and capacity building. Before, she was a community grants administrator at the same organization, and a project director for the Center for Health Training (now Cardea Services). September’s and Malia’s first day at the Foundation will be Monday, November 12. They look forward to connecting and working with many of you. We could not be more pleased to have them join us at the Heising-Simons Foundation. Education Close Share this page Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share on Email
