We are excited to announce the addition of our newest member to the Heising-Simons Foundation’s Science program!

Emily Schaller joined the Science team as a program officer on August 30, 2021, focused on astronomy, cosmology, climate change science, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. For the past decade, Emily has served as a NASA program manager directing Earth and environmental science education and outreach programs for the NASA Airborne Science program. Prior to that, Emily completed a Hubble postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Arizona and University of Hawaii, where she conducted observationally based research on topics including the meteorology of Saturn’s moon Titan, Kuiper Belt Object surfaces and atmospheres, and asteroid surface chemistry. Among her projects at the Foundation, Emily will be assuming the leadership of the 51 Pegasi b postdoctoral fellowship program in planetary astronomy.
