Gente Organizada (Gente) is a community-led social action non-profit organization based in Pomona, CA whose mission is to organize to build intergenerational power and wellness for youth and immigrant families in Pomona. Using an asset-based approach to community organizing, Gente works to partner with communities comprised of historically underrepresented, immigrant populations to understand their rights and the power of community action. Gente has three main components of its work: 1) empowering the youth of Pomona through the Pomona Students Union; 2) organizing parents through Padres Unidos de Pomona; and 3) building coalitions through collaboration with its partners and social action groups to promote a community-led movement for change.
