Climate Central is an independent organization that brings together leading scientists and journalists to research and report the facts about our changing climate and its impact on the public. Climate Central tackles the misperception that climate change is a distant issue—affecting other people and other places—by harnessing the power of science and communications to help the public understand the local impacts of climate change across the U.S. This grant supports Climate Central’s Climate Matters program in the U.S. to assist TV meteorologists in communicating about climate change. Climate Central continues to grow the cohort of Climate Matters meteorologists and increase their use of Climate Matters’ regularly produced educational materials.
