Possibilities Possibilities Climate and Clean Energy With support from the Foundation, in early 2023 grantee WE ACT for Environmental Justice's "Out of Gas, In with Justice" pilot found significant reductions in indoor air pollution when transitioning from gas to induction stoves. By September, New York announced the Clean Heat for All Challenge to install heat pumps in 30,000 public housing units. "I definitely noticed the difference. I have asthma and didn't know that the gas stove was contributing to it. Now I have no cough, and I don't feel congested like before." In dense urban areas, buildings are responsible for 70 percent of greenhouse gas emissions.* Previous Next Human Rights In 2023, several Human Rights grantees worked to end surveillance and punishment by furthering community-based alternatives to policing, including advancing alternatives to 911.
