The Heising-Simons Foundation believes in the vital role science journalists play in cultivating accurate coverage of science and technology in the news. For that reason, we supported four AAAS’ Mass Media Science & Engineering Fellows this past summer.

The fellowship places student scientists at media sites nationwide to work as science reporters for 10 weeks over the summer. Through the fellowship, these smart and dedicated students get a first-hand look at the changing media climate, learn new media skills, and produce dozens of original science stories.
