Opportunity Opportunity Journalism The 2023 American Mosaic Journalism Prize recognized Carvell Wallace and Cerise Castle for extraordinary journalism about underrepresented and marginalized communities. Mr. Wallace is a writer and podcaster exploring race, culture, and arts, whose memoir, "Another Word for Love," will be published in 2024. Ms. Castle's 15-part series uncovering deputy gangs operating inside the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has been translated into Spanish and turned into a podcast. The prize awards an unrestricted cash prize of $100,000 to freelance journalists. Previous Next CEO Fund: Technology and Society Under the leadership of President and CEO Sushma Raman, in 2023 the Foundation joined a $200 million collaboration with 10 other foundations and the White House Office of the Vice President to support public interest efforts that mitigate Al's harms and promote responsible Al use and innovation. Philanthropy has a role to play in ensuring that Al technologies protect the rights and well-being of society at large.
