The Algorithmic Justice League (AJL) works to raise public awareness about the impacts of artificial intelligence (AI), equip advocates with resources to bolster campaigns, build the voice and choice of most-impacted communities, and galvanize researchers, policymakers, and industry practitioners to prevent AI harms. AJL was founded by AI researcher and activist Dr. Joy Buolamwini to create a world with more accountable technology. AJL is a project of Code for Science and Society, a fiscal sponsor advancing the power of data to improve the social and economic lives of all people. This grant provides flexible support for the Algorithmic Justice League to lead a cultural movement towards equitable and accountable AI through a combination of art, research, policy guidance, and media advocacy.
